It isn't expensive, but there's no breakfast and is not a fun place to meet people. | Customer Review - 8 January 2010

San Telmo area is beautiful! I liked it even more than Palermo. The Sunday street fair was only a block away from Hotel Bolivar and it's great for people watching, gift shopping and just walking around. We had a private room for 4 with our own shower. The hotel is very quiet, you'll get your rest. Average on cleanliness, no bugs or anything like that. Great staff! Very helpful and friendly. We really liked Ramiro at the front desk. And it's a great deal for the money. | Suzan Dlouhy - 7 September 2009

A bit dingy, yes its old and has character but its not charming old, I believe the building is 150 years old and im pretty sure the beds and mattress are the original since then (read: banana shaped iron spring beds). Bathrooms were the only really renovated aspect and they excellent with good hot water. Currently under construction/renovation so maybe in 10 years it will be charming, because its an interesting building in an interesting area. Note San Telmo is boring sunday-wednesday, i mean theres bars open but the vibe is low, but after wed. then it starts to pick up. Hostel offers little tourist assistance and no common areas and the kitchen available is really more for the workers of the hotel. we werent really shown around or facilities explained but reception is nice and helpfull if you prompt them, if not a bit dazed and confused. Is value for money, since it was cheap but i wouldnt stay there without having a look around a couple years into the future. | Hannah Clackworthy - 26 June 2009

This property is located right in the heart of San Thelmo, the oldest part of BA where there are a lot of tango shows, markets, wine bars and good bakeries. its also close to the main shopping streets (Av. Florida etc). Some of the rooms have nice balconys. It is quite cold though, we stayed in June. | Hostel reviews are sourced from our partner HostelBookers.
