I enjoyed the vibe, warm and friendly atmosphere, a lot of whats-on reading material, the staff were helpful and attentive, along with the location is A1, right across from the lagoon. The rooms were easy but clean, and although it's not a new and flashy complex, it has its own Queenslander-style charm, with a central courtyard and pool encompassed by balconies. The surrounding streets get a little rowdy at night, but the building itself is silent right after 11, which is very good in case you need an early rise to do excursions. Although it's generally share accomodation, I stayed in a private room top back, which personally suited me and was very good value.
