It is a exceptional way out from centre. Bus runs every single hour or so and takes about 45 mins to get into town. Host very nice and ready to help you with anything! Extremely comforting place, brilliantly kept and really quiet. The chef on site is really talented and it adds to the charm. Definitely for you in case you need to get out from touristic centre.

Fantastic pool, great tennis court, nice rooms, and a pretty view of the valley below. Also a great breakfast. The bus service is trusted and a very good way to get in to paraty - about 1 hour to get in to town, and 20 mins back, due to the convoluted bus route

The property is very nice. The surrounding area is very serene, quiet, and beautiful. If you want to get away from the city for a bit and have a retreat this is a nice place. The breakfast was very good, w/ a lot of selections. However, we didn't get the fresh squeezed juice that others got. I think we didn't have as many people staying during that time, but it was still plenty of food and selection. The owners/staff there were very kind and accommodating. They even gave us a lift to town the day we were leaving. The place was also very clean - bathrooms, rooms, linens. There is a hammock that you can use as well. The A/C/heater works well too for chilly nights.

The property is really nice. The surrounding region is really serene, quiet, and beautiful. In case you desire to get from the city for a bit and have a retreat this is a nice place. The breakfast was really good, w/ a lot of selections. However, we didn&'t get the fresh squeezed juice that others got. I think we didn&'t have as several individuals staying during that time, but it was still a lot of food and selection. The owners/staff there were really kind and accommodating. They even gave us a lift to town the day we were leaving. The spot was also really clean - bathrooms, rooms, linens. There is a hammock that you can use as well. The A/C/heater works properly too for chilly nights.

La Dolce Vita is a gorgeous property, complete with tennis court, saunas, pool, and volleyball court, located 7 plus kilometers (half an hour by bus) up the mountain outside Paraty. The Italian/Brazilian couple who run it are extremely friendly and accommodating, and between them speak Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese--though absolutely no English, which means very limited conversations if you're not adept in any of the above. Definitely opt for the inclusion of breakfast if you stay here, it was the best we had in Brazil and certainly the best value for money: a full spread of ham, cheese, fresh baked almond bread, coffee, fresh squeezed juice, and delicious home made pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese puffs), along with bananas and fruit grown on site--all consumed on the kitchen terrace which overlooks the mountainside that slopes to the sea. The private apartment also has its own cooking facilities, and looks out on a duck pond. Bird lovers will find much to admire here, as the trees are filled with exotic, brightly colored birds, and the grounds are well maintained and quiet.

If you wish to stay outside of Paraty and travel in each day, this place is fantastic. Great location, in nature, very silent and great rooms. The bus is unreliable, but usable. The view is fantastic, great breakfasts and helpful staff (but no english)
