The hostel was okay for the money. Not much atmosphere there and it was very hot throughout the place. Seemed like there was more staff than guests there. |

They have really good bathrooms with thick toilet paper and you can throw toilet paper inside the toilet!!! They have a kitchen with everything you need to cook. The breakfast is really simple, we didnt like it, they only have Doce de leite with bread and butter, no eggs. Also its close to the party nightlife of Rio, only five minutes walking from the hostel. |

The patio What I DIDN'T like: Their price system - indeed 25R sounds like a good value, as they charge you in bits and pieces additionally as : - 5R per hour for the Internet (rediculous in a huge city like this) plus no WIFI - you have to buy drinks in the hostel, you're not allowed to bring your own - the breakfast is coffee, white toast bread, butter and a sort of jam - that's it! Brazil famous for the big breakfasts this was by far the worst or the most simple breakfast ever had during our whole stay (2. 5months) in Brazil. - they even ask you 1 or 2 R for filtered tap water - give me a break! So, it's a ok place to arrive in this huge city, but you better look quickly for a place with more atmosphere and rather pay bit more but you get also much more! |

Place was cool, location good if you want to be in Lapa!! But Lapa as a whole is a pretty dirty, seedy, stinking place. Don't let that put you off the hosel though, staff were friendly, although not locals (from Argentina actually) and were not to hot on what's ging down in the local area. Only recomendation of improvement would be a bin next to the breakfast tables as I had no where to put my used tea bags!!!! |
