Our stay at Vidigalbergue was just amazing! It is situated at the beginning of the Vidigal Favela and we felt really secure here. On our first evening we joined a party in the favela which was really special. Rooms are clean and huge enough, the view is incredible, breakfast is nice and employees is more than friendly. We are backpacking for almost six months now and this hostel is probably the really best we have been to.

Amazing staff, breakfast, and view! Was worried about staying on the edge of the favela but I felt safer here than in most other places in Rio de Janeiro. The hostel really makes you really feel like family, showing us around to the greatest places and blocos, and made Carnival a blast! Couldn&'t recommend it more.

The Employees are really friendly and helpfull, it has wonderfull seaview, its ten minutes walking from leblon beach in case you are not in walking mood there are midibuses run 24 hours, you can get of, right infront of the hostelwhat else you ask for from the hostel

A fantastic hostel with great staff, an amazing sea view, clean, comfortable and secure. The favela in which it is situated is enchanting and adds to the character of the hostel.

The people working there - Evelyn and Pedro were very friendly, helpful with any request, they were enjoyable and Evelyn joined us (or led us) to party down town! :-) the breakfasts and the view are fantastic! The hostel (inside) has an overall pleasing and cosy atmosphere.

The price. The location is not the extremely best due to the fact you are far from the center, but nonetheless it is safe and you have a nice view on the sea. The breakfast is nice. No cost water (even if it taste really bad) The employees is nice, even if they don&'t have any map of the city.
