Super warm and friendly employees often going out of their way to help, wonderful pick up from the bus station, even when we arrived later than planned, wonderful air con rooms!

I expected a lot worse based on reviews but it was fine. location is not easy to find as they dont give directions and i had to ask in two hotels, but location is great close to wat phnom and night market, and express busses to other cities. the palace and other pagodas about a 15 min walk along the river. the tickets to HCMC were sold out everywhere for the day i wanted but the hostel was able to give it to me for a day later at $10 and extend my stay for another night at the same rate. breakfast is included thru hostelbookers yet not walk in bookings who got upset when told to pay. room was ok with a great tv package. no hot water is included but this was normal in both the hostels i stayed at. water temperature was ok to shower 2-3x a day which i did. water is a lot cleaner and safer than it was in phnom penh. a tuk tuk drove me nearby with my luggage for the HCMC bus at no charge. english levels vary but they will try to help. the very smily person speaks the best. they were not too pushy about tours unless I enquired but a firm no was enough for them to back off. building layout is strange but you cant fault the hostel as it wasnt purpose built.

Leaving to siem reap to Tom and Jerry&'s apparently a sister hostel - 1/3 the price and 10000% much better all around. If i were tom and jerry&'s i would not wish to be affiliated with King hostel

This hostel must have been an office building and they have converted it. When we arrived we were put into one room at the front which was fine, and was very quite during the night which was great. The toilet didnt work, however they did fix this. We booked a deluxe and got a deluxe, however in other countries we have been to in SEA this wasnt great enough for a deluxe. The location is ok, you are about 5min walk to the riverside. The staff are nice but they are a bit pushy selling their tours, whilst you are trying to eat breakfast. However the breakfast that came with the room wasnt too bad at all.

Reasonably properly located, perhaps a five minute walk from the riverside, King Guesthouse delivers what it states: basic, budget lodging for the shoestring traveller. The staff were always accommodating and friendly, and were able to change my room for me even when the hostel was very busy.
