An absolute great place to meet other travelers and the staff were friendly and helpful. Do not stay here though if privacy is a must and do not expect the Ritz. The three floors have people sleeping on hammocks, on couches, outside on bunk-beds and even in the flatbed of a truck! The price per night is so cheap, it's to be expected. and all that said everyone was very friendly and respectful. no one partying late into the night, not a long wait to use the shared bathrooms. If you're on a budget and looking to make friends during your stay in Montreal, I would definitely recommend Chez Jean. |

Very easy-going place, maybe too much. But the atmosphere was peculiar and you can easily meet a lot of people! |

It wasn't a bad place, it just wasn't as good as some of the others I've stayed at. I didn't get the feel of a community. Staff was not around, so no one to ask questions of, only double beds provided and no air conditioning - if it is hot out, it is HOT AS HECK! Location was okay, near some things on the plateau, but far from others. Also, in the summer, you won't know ahead of time which location at which you will be sleeping. |

A typical 2-stories house, not far from metro station and from St Denis street which is a great place to hang out. You would probably want to stay there if you want to meet people - in summer, many people arrive/leave every day. Very little space (beds in every corners, in halls too). 1 home computer, free wireless, free telephone (local calls). The owners are friendly and cool. Also a good place to relax in the evenings after a long day of visiting the city. |

I think, here only french people, that's why it was difficult to met people who speak english or so! but, without this point it is very nice! if you are french or speak french very well, than go there :-)! |

Everything was OK. it would have been great if things hadn't been stolen from other rooms. so, just lock your room. breakfast is a big plus. |

It was in a great location and not over crowded. It was fairly clean and the staff was very nice. |
