It&'s very close to everything that the city has to offer, and to the most effective attractions. The staff (which consists of one guy) tries to be as helpful as he can, knowing he takes care of the property by himself, and that gives him a lot of work. But he answers the phone 24h (we called him at 1am for some trouble inside the property I mention below), and he put us in another room the day after, on demand.

The person who showed us our room made himself VERY helpful, we were treated as guests from the start. For the price we had a nice private bed, the walls are a bit thin but the common area is beautiful. We will certainly be staying here again in our future Toronto adventures.

It was a shared house, as nicely as the other travellers staying at the same time were super warm and friendly and extremely respectful about noise levels. The kitchen was often kept clean. Keys are given to each room, nothing was stolen~ I&'m sure even if I had left my room open, nothing would have been taken. The code-lock mechanism on the front door also made me feel quite safe.

Excelent location (near things), cost totally worth it. You had computer, hot water bathrooms, kitchen, etc. Huge nice and spacious bedrooms.

The location was unbeatable! Close to everything, straightforward to get around from, and there were a lot of delicious and low-cost places to eat nearby ($6 Indian was insanely good)! I was with a group of 4 others and we thoroughly enjoyed the privacy or our top-floor room. We had to call the guy to have him come check us in, as some others have said. He was a chill young Asian dude who we didn&'t see for the rest of our stay. A few individuals have commented that the area isn&'t secure and that there is certainly a shady lap dance bar at the corner. I&'ll admit that while first walking down the street I was a little surprised. lots of yards littered with trash and broken furniture and a couple hobos hanging around. but when it came down to it, the actual hostel was clean, secure and I didn&'t have a single problem. I think that for sensitive individuals who are not used to urban environments this might not be the most effective spot to stay, but if you&'re street smart and fine with being asked for change occasionally you&'ll be alright. Just don&'t look like a tourist, but that goes for 90% of the places you might travel to!
