Located on board of the lake, try taking a room with lake view (wonderful views), very quiet location, if low season you might get no cost upgrade of room type, delicious house made dumplings, super-friendly employees but with limited English

It is in a quiet, quant village by the lake - a lovely, scenic location. The staff were friendly but due to the issue with bicycles mentioned above, I haven't considered them as being too helpful! The rooms were huge and clean.

If your looking for a silent location near the lake, this is the place. very nice owners, both talk great english and french. hot shower and ok toilette. 1 yuan from town so really easy to get to. i do suggest the place. but if its party your looking for well might be better stay in town.

The couple who run the hostel were really friendly. Although we speak Chinese there were some communication issues as they seemed to confuse us with other guests. They seemed busy so it was understandable. The location was really pretty bus a little far out from the town. Extremely quiet and peaceful.

It's a great place to stay. No hurry, no worry, clean room, good food, very nice people, and really great location: what a pretty scenery! High green mountain and blue blue lake, am I in Switzerland but it's far more exotic with conventional hand painted houses around and friendly Bai individuals chatting in their sunny courtyard, so it's China, the most relaxing and pleasant part of authentic China!

We had been backpacking for 6 weeks in China and staying in dorms so we wanted a few noiseless days away from everything, this spot is perfect for that. The town itself is a extremely brief bus journey from Dali Old Town (buses extremely frequent) and this guesthouse is right on the lake. The owners were lovely and made us feel extremely welcome. Free bike hire, laundry washing and wifi. The rooms were spotless and the beds were good.
