Like its sister hostel Jade Emu, the Jade Roo sets the standard for hostels everywhere in Asia. Attracts the right kind of travellers (it helps that the hostel is in hippie, laid-back Dali) so amazing atmosphere. Clean and spacious beds. Web connection is tunneled to HK so the Great Firewall of China is not an issue. Soap, shampoo, and towels provided. Great value for money. So cheap yet you got so much more than what you pay for. The staff, headed by Dave, the owner, are great. Treats you not as customers but as house guests. I&'d definitely suggest this property.

It looks like the Australian owner knows exactly what you&'re looking for in a hostel. I liked that it was fun but quiet enough to sleep!

We've been travelling around the Globe for far more than 6 months and this place was most likely the finest ever ! They have EVERYTHING you need: good web connection, clean and spacious rooms, outstanding location, delicious and low-cost food, great patio with ping pong and pool tables, the employees is GREAT so friendly and speaking good English they can help you for whatever you need. The atmosphere is great, do not hesitate, just go there you wont regret !
