We arrived super late night as nicely as the place was locked down by a gate, but there was a guy manning the reg desk. carlos it may have been really nice. wifi actually worked too! we stayed inside the 2 person room which looked much like a hotel room. everything seemed really clean. we basically knocked out and was out the very next morning. woke up to breakfast (lady who makes it was very attentive and nice).

The Owners were absolutly wonderful! They spoke very excellent english, were very professional and extremely helpful. We stayed here at the begining of our costa rica trip and at the end we were supposed to stay at a different hostel. The shuttle driver could not discover it and was very shall we say difficult and he just pulled up to Casa Tago and dumped us. So once again the owners were wonderful, they looked up our hostel and gave us detailed directions on how to get there. We were so thankful for them! But anyway. Casa Tago is in a nice region of town with tons of shopping and excellent restaurants. It is a handy 10 minute from the airport which cost us $6. We had a private room with ensuite bathroom, it was comfortable, clean and had a fantastic view of the mountains. They also made and served a great breakfast of coffee, homemade juice, eggs, bread with butter && jam and fuit. yummy! So stay here && you will be very happy!

It was very clean, included breakfast which they make fresh for you. The owners were very helpful and friendly, quick to accommodate. Our fan didn&'t work so it was replaced right away for us. There is a television in the room too. Excellent location, near to airport and bus terminal. I would definitely go back!

This is a top notch place to begin and end your holiday in Costa Rica, and central enough as a general base too. It is smart and really clean, with a family atmosphere and genuinely friendly, really helpful staff. Constanza and her husband make ideal hosts, they ironed out any problems we had, were interested in our expereinces and encouraged our attempts to speak Spanish. We found oursleves lingering to chat after each and every very good fresh breakfast. We would definitely go back there.

Easy 6 block walk to bus stop to Monteverde. Helpful staff. provided maps and directions to bus stop and nearby restaurants.
