I had a private room with cable TV, toilet and bath, and cooking area all for only US$15. 00 per night. You cannot get a deal greater than that. The hostel is located in a silent neighborhood (no city noise). It is just about 15 mins from downtown by bus, which costs only about 65 US cents. The owner speaks English nicely and is really helpful, and will do just about anything to create your stay a pleasing one. I will go back there anytime I am inside the Dominican Republic.

The hostel is located in a noiseless neighborhood (no city noise). It is just about 15 minutes from downtown by bus, which costs only about 65 US cents. The owner speaks English properly and is very helpful, and will do just about anything to make your stay a pleasing one. I will go back there anytime I am inside the Dominican Republic.

I did not get the very best room. But there are much better ones, I saw! So check prior to taking the room. Avoid the room just behind the garage. The staff of Freeman Aparta Hotel is most friendly. If there was a problem of any kind at once they endeavor to solve it and succeeded in it. Very friendly and helpful staff! According to the prices applied in Santo Domingo: a excellent deal if you get the right room.

Great location, friendly staff. The room the first night was decent enough, with a/c, tv, and a lot of space. We went back a second time though, had to pay five dollars far more and had a much worse room. The bathroom faced an alley with urine smells, television did not work properly and kept losing reception, along with the shower had only a trickle of water. So, it is a bit of a toss up, depending on which room you get. However, it felt like a secure place to spend the night.
