If you want a cheap single room inside the centre of Derby, this is it.

I run a hotel myself so I know what I'm talking about. The place was great. The decor while not being brand new was in no way scruffy and lacked the horrendous sterile decor that you get in Holiday Inns type places. The road it is in the daytime is nice and quiet but in the evening it becomes very loud as the monstrously ugly Heritage inn across the road has a night club. Fortunately and possibly at great expense, they've had the foresight to install triple glazing in the rooms so noise is not an issue. I paid xa3;50 and got a double, en suite room with everything you could want; tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer. In the bathroom I had a bath and shower with amazing water pressure (it literally took about 3 minutes to fill the bath), The breakfast, complimentary, was also great. Nice cereals (not generic cornflakes), toast, juice, tea and coffee and a choice of cooked breakfasts. The location was amazing. Although the street was quiet it was seconds walk from the city centre. The staff were genuinely friendly. I had a friend who also came down to Derby at the same time and stayed in a chain hotel for ten pounds less and all he got was a single with a shared bathroom and nothing else what so ever. My only criticism is that there was no free WFI (although you could pay for it) which it think should be free wherever you stay

It says what it is, we paid a small amount for a handy place for a few nights. No frills, just a place to stay for a brief while.
