The hostel launched only half a year ahead of our visit so everything was extremely clean and fresh. The evening employees person that greeted us was obviously quite new at the job (since one week) but extremely warm and friendly and helpful. She spoke hardly any English though but luckily some of us handle German decently. The employees was generally extremely helpful. One problem was that the four of us inside the room got only two keys (and the second one only the second day) and since we were there for the Wave-Gotik-Treffen it meant that we were spread over different locations inside the city until late at night, and quite some coordination in between us was required. A related problem was that the back door that you need to use when the reception is not open (which it is only 9-12 and 16-20 on weekdays, 9-16 on weekends) requires a key to open also from the inside, and does not lock itself automatically. We frequently found the back door unlocked, quite likely simply because individuals simply forgot to lock it when passing through.
