Location and food was just amazing. The staff was co-operative and really friendly. Nice location to relax and unwind from a busy city life.

Very warm and friendly staff. Often pleased to help. Even drove us to the train station in town and waited for us whilst we bought our tickets! Great food, and house is literally in front of the beach, which is quite deserted apart from the crabs and crows.

We wanted to be away from it all and we got it! In fact, we had the entire beach almost to ourselves. Except a couple fisherman and also the few other locals, it felt like a private beach. The beachhouse itself was fantastic. The property owner were a sweet older couple who made the most delicious meals. This was important since the nearest places to eat were a couple kilometers down the beach. However, the value for the meals was incredible. Lastly, they helped book transportation for us at a fair price.

If you&'re looking for somewhere literally in the middle of nowhere and a place to chill this is for you. Though there are frequent tuk tuks you can get if you want a day trip to Fort Cochin it&'s 300 Rs and then only 2 Rs per person for the ferry. You can walk to the much busier Cherai beach which has some bars and restaurants (French owned chillout has food European food if you need a break from curry! ) Mr Kuruilly and his wife are very nice people, the property is basic but clean. It&'s a mice tranquil place, up this end of the beach there are virtually no people. But the beach itself is really dirty with rubbish and human faeces everywhere so you have to be careful exactly where you sit. The prawn farms behind are lovely just huge lakes and palm trees. You have to look past a lot of the superficial stuff! There are lots of wild eagles and dolphins on your doorstep.

The location - the stunning scenery all around - the beach in front of the place as properly as the backwaters behind The communal region - a wonderful location to eat with fellow travellers - to meet others from all nationalities and to share experiences. The communal region is a wonderful location to relax with lovely views. We would have liked to have stayed longer and would like to return one day.

This is the single most stunning places I have ever stayed. It is hard to uncover peace and solace in India but this places had it in each and every corner. A stunning beach home 4km from the busiest Cherai beach (a walkable distance) and maybe 3km from Kuzhiphilly town (you can borrow a bicycle for free), but why leave when you have a beach just a moments walk away all to yourself. The beach home itself has lovely rooms, each with terraces or porches, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off the sand. You can eat all your meals there, cooked to perfection by Bobby, the in home chef. The mango chutney was our favourite. The public room has fantastic views of each the ocean along with the backwaters, and it has awesome hanging chairs and bunk beds in which to relax and listen to the ocean. Perfect, worth the price, and just a fantastic spot to relax.

I would completely suggest this place 100% - fantastic property, extremely secure and clean. The staff Cami, Priya, Bobby and so on were super super helpful and their suggestions of places to go were second to none. We liked this place so much that we went back for a second stay at the end of our holiday. The food was by far the most effective we had tasted in Kerala.

Its directly on the beach, extremely secluded but a TukTuk is onlyone call away and in short time u reach Fort Cochin. The owners are the most helpful individuals and have suggestions were to go. Its the perfect hideaway and the food was the most delicous i have tasted in 3 weeks travelling in India.

Everything! The location is amazing! 24k island with a deserted beach at the front and tropical landscape at the rear with prawn lagoons, palm trees and coconut tress as far as the eye can see! Beautiful! The homestay was lovely, each room has an fantastic view and are all great, but A1 is the best :-) its so peaceful. The only individuals are local fishing individuals who are really friendly. 4k up the road you have Cherai beach which is a bit much more lively and a little much more touristy, in case you like that kind of thing. If not stay put at the beach house. we were only supposed to stay for a few days and ended up staying for 10 just chilling on the roof top in their swinging bamboo chairs. The owner, mr Kuruvilla is a legend! He will help you with anything you want, he even helped us purchase two of the fab bamboo chairs and ship them back home. He had his carpenter make a wooden crate for them so they would&'nt get damaged in transit and drove us all over town and to the port so we could ship themhome. He sorting everything out and didn&'t asking for a penny in return! such a fantastic man. He even brought me a present on our last day. He knew I loved elephants, so he gave me a stunning carved wooden elephant! I was so touched, I wanted to hug him! We also meet his whole family, Anish (son) Priya (daughter inlaw) their children Colin and baby christa plus mrs Kuruvilla. All fantastic polite and warm and friendly people. The employees their are fantastic too. Saratha and bobby (cook) will wait on your every single need. take the time to chat with them, their fantastic poeple and bobby likes to have a laugh. He&'s a mean cook too :-) I would thoroughly reccomend a stay at this homestay, I&'ll be going back thats for sure :-) Clair UK 29/02/12 - 10/03/12
