The room seemed somewhat scruffy, with outworn furniture, filthy or broken ceiling panels, moldy smell. The breakfast was poor. There is certainly a massive construction site exactly where they build new bungalows. The pool features a pool bar exactly where you can find Aussie travellers hanging out all day drinking beer. If you appreciate partying with them it might be worth it. Otherwise go to Adus Beach Inn next door, exactly where you can find a nicer room and much better standard for half the price.

This not a hostel but a hotel. I had stayed there in may and was pretty happy with everything. Handy to the beach, friendly staff, not noisy and excellent value for money. A favourite spot for australians of any age.
