Beautiful location out on the banks of the Galway bay, across an old bridge with a ruined tower. Couldn't really get more romantic and Irish! The history of the house is quite fascinating. It was previously owned by local nobles and was visited by Irish poet WB Yeats and Lady Gregory during their dialogues on the creation of the Abbey Theater. The ambiance is very traditional and fun. I loved the common room, which is straight out of an old Victorian mansion. The portraits on the wall and the old furniture gave it a delightfully spooky feel. Also, there is a hidden graveyard somewhere down the road. we tried to find it in the middle of the night but were unsuccessful. Still, a great place for adventure!

Great Location (middle of nowhere) though is is problem getting there in case you have no transport.

It was a lovely spot near a lovely village and lots of points to do around here. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, no cost parking and a outstanding kitchen and dining area.
