The staff was warm and friendly and willing to help. On the other hand, they did not speak much English or other foreign languages. Breakfast was relatively many-sided and also the rooms were clean, in particular if compared with average two star hotels in Italy. A possibility to have dinner at a reasonable cost in the hotel restaurant. In short, in case you need a practical low-budget lodging without any luxuries in Genoa, Hotel Serafino might be a very good choice for you: the balance in between cost and quality is OK.

Pretty low priced and great for a one night stay. But I can not suggest this Hotel for longer stays. The Breakfast was unexpectedly rich (in comparison to other Italian Breakfast). Sadly the shower was not in finest conditions and inside the room corners were mould-infested.

The walk to the hostel was a little sketchy--later found out you take the bus from the station really cheap (1euro for the ride, a little over 3 euro for a day pass) so take the bus! but it is really close to the airports so thats good for anyone coming in by plane. There wasn't a whole lot to do near the hotel but if you take the bus to the pier area or piazza ferrari there is more of a night life--went bar hopping, Friday seemed more lively than Saturday.
