Khaosan Annex was almost certainly the best hostel I stayed at in Japan, it was exceptional value for money, had really comfy rooms and was situated conveniently near to Asasuka station. I would suggest it to any travellers on a budget, and would definitely go back there on my next visit.

I didn&'t simply like this hostel, I really loved it! Beginning from the amazingly polite, warm and friendly and helpful (not to mention the fact that everyone speaks English - normally extremely hard in Tokyo) staff working at Khaosan, to the property itself, the entire stay was one of the greatest I&'ve ever had until now (and I have been travelling quite a lot. ). The cabin I stayed at was perfect! Spacious, comfortable, not claustrophobic at all, with a extremely japanese style futon bed! Much greater than I thouhgh it could be. The entire spot was extremely clean and comfortable. There are various shower rooms and toilets situated on the 3 floors of the hostel, once again all incredibly clean! You will never have to wait outside more than 10 seconds ; )! The living room at the entrance of the hostel was always full of extremely nice guests. Some would watch a dvd (there are a lot you can borrow also as a lot of books), some others surf the web on one of the 8 (free) computers situated at the centre of the place. Some others would simply sit on the sofas, talking or sipping the cup of coffee they just made inside the shared kitchen behind. All this makes of Khaosan a cozy, warm and joyful place. For any question, you can always contact one of the guys at the reception who will immediately try to solve any of your problems! What about the location Khaosan is less thatn 10 minutes walk from the Asakusa subway station and 30 minute (by train) from Shibuya/Shinjuku/Harajuku! All you have to do is cross the &"blue&" bridge to discover yourself surrounded by temples (Sensoji is 300 mts from the bridge), eating places and small shops! This is almost certainly one of the greatest spots for those who, like me, adore the crowds but prefer to stay just one step behind them! The entire location is extremely silent and super properly organized, no traffic, no mess no noise. What should I add more Actually a lot but I&'ll let you discover it out. p. s If I had a such a terrific time in Tokyo, is also because my fantastic stay at Khaosan!

Very good staff, welcoming and spoke English. They up-graded us to a cabin which was great and comfortable. Cheap laundry, free Internet, not far from subway and a cheap convenience store around the corner.

The best were the staff and the environment there. It was very nice to exchange with a lot of people and to participate in some activities as I was travelling alone. The bar was really a plus to meet people too. I loved the concept !

Loved this place! The cabin beds are brilliant for privacy. Employees were friendly, it was clean, and wifi in lounge is great. No problems at all!

Convenient place for us to stay one night coming from the airport. Low-cost beds and late check in where the most effective for us

The Awesome Cabin bedroom, that was really cool, as properly as the party they had and how close it was to the Huge Temple. Only felt the Earthquake once, and had Emergency Numbers available everywhere (reassuring).
Briana P. on 24 March 2011
The staff was so warm and friendly and helpful! They provided maps, adapters, and a no cost drink at the Khaosan bar.
Hamish M. on 16 March 2011
Delivered exactly what was expected for it's price. Clean, friendly staff, great place to meet people. The staff were so only helpful in difficult times with the quake and all. Highly recommended.
