After a long day walking around Petra, visitors can sit back and relax on the hotel's balconies or rooftop terrace and enjoy the sunset, mountain panorama and later on, the lights of the town. Cups of tea are always available (bedouin or english) and served complements of the hotel.

The breakfasts were delicious, and served from 6. 30am to coincide with their early shuttle down to Petra at 7am and 8am. The free shuttle was a real bonus on the return too, at 5pm and 6pm. Had a room with an awesome view over Wadi Musa - awesome sunsets. Close to shops to buy food for lunch. Ate at their Seven Wonders camp one evening. Delicious food and pretty atmosphere. Jane works hard to make the Rocky Mountain a success and has certainly achieved that.

The best portion was the host. We were only in Petra for one full day and she gave us all of the advice we needed to create the most of it. Her advice was really invaluable.

The room was comfortable, had a fantastic view, good shower and bathroom. Wireless was fast and reliable, Breakfast inside the morning was basic but good. Free shuttle to Petra and back

Jane and her team are really motivated and nice, they organised very good tours around Wadi Musa. We only did the standards (half-day Al-Beida, Shobak, Dana Village plus Wadi Rum besides Petra itself) but learned that you could also go on longer hikes with them which is really a very good option. They also take you to Petra, the bus station or the ATM which saves you a few dinars and long walks up the steep hill on which the hostel sits :). The breakfast was fine, rooms were plushy and warm (definitely a plus inside the winter! ) yet a little small. The thing is really rather a hotel than a hostel, yet keeping up some hostel feel inside the communal area.

Staff are generally friendly && generous both in supplying lodgers&' needs whether in foods, transportation, advice && etc. The hotel offers an awesome view of the city.

I loved the Rocky Mountain Hotel, a very comforting place with beautiful employees and a homely, welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is 5 mins walk from the center which has a very good selection of eating places and Jane, the owner, gave me some very good addresses. There&'s no cost WiFi and tea was on tap, from Bedouin to Cardamon, and often served with a friendly word and a smile. I had some fantastic chats about Bedouin life with Ala who has a very philisophical take on life. Breakfast was fantastic too, with freshly made omelette. I visited the Seven Wonders Bedouin Camp which was beautiful so nicely worth visiting if you&'ve the time.

Very friendly staff. Owner Jane will go out of her way to help you out and make sure you enjoy your stay. Location is on top of the town overlooking the mountains - fantastic view! Away from the town centre so it&'s nice and silent Comfortable rooms that are great value for money
