Wo Jia isa is awesome. I have been travelling around SE Asia now for over 8 months and this is by far one of the nicest guesthouses I have stayed in. Staff is friendly, the decoration is inviting (yes, its decorated - a deluxe in the world of hostel dwelling), location is central, as properly as the cooking area option is fabulous. We cooked dinner whilst staying here and that was a lot of fun. There&'s a fridge with bevs (water, soda and beer - all reasonably priced) and toast with kaya/butter for breakfast. The all day coffee/tea is no cost and its not instant! Definitely glad to have made this our first stop in Borneo. Thanks Wo Jia.

The location is the really best thing about this lodge. It&'s right across from the river, encompassed by local shops, near Little India, the bus stop, the traveler info office, and walkable distance to restaurants, bars, etc. The employees was also really helpful, asking what I was going to do that day or the next and looking for ways to help me get around the town. They were quick with recommendations, but they weren&'t trying to sell their very own packages. Genuine help. Wireless inside the rooms was an added bonus.

The staff are amazing - extremely warm and friendly and helpful. I was a lone backpacker as well as the hostel owner took me out for dinner when nobody else was about. We instantly became buddies so dined together with other travellers most evenings. He always drove us out of the city center so we could have a look at eating places that travellers don&'t go to. The staff as well as the owner care about all their travellers - they want to make their stay in Kuching a memorable and enjoyable one so go to all lengths to make this happen.
Customer Review on 24 February 2012
The hostel is in a great location, right on the waterfront and close to the bus station, markets, eating places etc. The property owner and employees were extremely warm and friendly and helpful, volunteering useful info and helping us to plan our time in Kuching. The lounge area was a very good location to hang out in, along with the beer was cheap.

Staff are extremely helpful. The owner sat down with me on the first night && took me through all local attractions, bus routes && any other information I wanted to know. Employees in general are really friendly && helpful. This is a beautiful hostel! I got particular value for money as it was low season I had a 2 bed dorm to myself. Whilst that was great, it could be a little strange with just a 2 bed dor . Hopefully the dorms are at least grouped by gender. The location is perfect, right on the waterfront.

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff, calm atmosphere, use of net access to tea and coffee all day.

Fantastic employees who were extremely warm and friendly and really helped you get the most of out your trip. Extremely clean basic rooms as nicely as the hostel was in a great location.

Loved the common chillout room with stacks of free dvds to watch and if a small collection of books if you're more old school. free wireless in all of the rooms was a bonus and there is one computer in the lobby also, with first 15 mins of use being free. the people that worked there were great and extremely helpful when organising touristy points to do minus the usual traveller price. definitely reccomend it.

One of the really best hostels I have stayed in! Not only is the hostel in a wonderful location, it has clean rooms, a wonderful public area and employees that really are second to none. Everyone there made us really feel extremely welcome and were so helpful and knowledgeable about doing points in Kuching. Stay here - we desire to go back already!
