The Retreat was really nice to spend some days there and to pay a visit to the Urang-Utan Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Extremely nice build accomodation, clean and very friendly and helpful staff.

The location is really beautiful, clean and peaceful. Very good to relax out, read a book and pay a visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Center.

Great location. Perfect spot to spend a few relaxing days. Nothing to do here but chat to people, read, write. Great base for visiting Sepilok orang-utan sanctuary, proboscis monkeys at Labuk Bay, as well as the Rainforest Discovery Centre for walking trails. Employees are so calm and friendly, it rubs off on you!

A wonderful spot to stay with really helpful and knowledgeable staff. We stayed inside the dorm but had it much more or less to ourselves - a pretty airy space. The common areas are outstanding - areas for sunbathing, shady spots with hammocks, and a nice bar/restaurant/lounge area. Dinner was outstanding value and tasty, along with the free breakfast was pretty outstanding too - better than the usual toast and jam. The shuttle service to Sepilok takes five or ten minutes and ran on time. It also seemed possible to be picked up / dropped off here by most tours going to Kinabatangan, saving you a taxi cab journey into town.

The really best thing about this property is the really warm and friendly staff, especially Yuse (sp). But in addition, it is in a really lovely spot && the facilities are nice. I wish I&'d stayed more than 1 night.

Location to Sepilok and the no cost shuttle ride to the door of the centre. The employees were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included and they have a restaurant facility for lunch and dinner which I was not aware of initially therefore did not withdraw enough money at the airport. The employees offered to transport us on our return to the airport (fee the same as the cab fair) and obtain the rest to pay my bill. Needless to say a few beers were had as we knew we could relax and take advantage of this. I would extremely suggest this place!
