The owners are wonderfully hospitable and helpful - they arranged a tour for us and then they took us out to the cinema to see a bollywood film in the evening, I would recommend this for the proximity to the airport.

Le Bamboo is probably the friendliest and best place I've stayed in Mauritius. Very friendly and lovely atmosphere and wonderful hospitality. Great place to meet people and great food

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The owner picked us up from the airport and drove us back at the end. We were provided with a great breakfast and the rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who is looking for a place near the airport or Blue Bay.

The family who run this guesthouse are extremely friendly and helpful and provided us with invaluable information when we went on day trips. The hostel is in a quiet location but is just a 5 - 7 minute walk from the waterfront, bus station, market, etc. They also have bikes which came in very handy.

Le Bamboo is great place to do your travels in Mauritius from. I first was about to stay there three nights, but afterwards i decided to stay all 10 nights! It was because i liked the place, the owners, Rashma and Pravind are really nice. I have been to many places around the world, but Le Bamboo still has got the essence of good hostel. Staff there is just fine, many great tips how to travel around the island i got from them, and it is nice spot to start all your journeys from. Prices are as well good for what you can get, no problems for renting cars and even just borrowing a bike to wander around coast. Location is fine, cause Mahebourg is nice village, close to famous Blue Bay, all the bus connections going everywhere on island are there. You can do even the tour with someone from the hostel around the island. What more do you need to explore Mauritius originaly Or otherwise you choose an expensive Hotel where youll be like in a bubble. then you rather stay home, cause Mauritius got so much to offer.

Rooms are rather small and a little makeshift and there is just wooded boards dividing some of the rooms - so can be a little noisy! But pleasant enough. Staff incredibly helpful.
