Me and my amigo had a gorgeous three day stay here! Carmelita is a wonderful host who is so warm and friendly and welcoming! She made us a wonderful breakfast each and every morning at the same time as afternoon lunch one day. Her hospitality is superb and she has a gorgeous personality ;) The place is beautifully decorated, really clean and really affordable! We would recommend anyone who visits Guanajuato to stay in Hogar de Carmelita!

Our stay at Hogar de Carmelita has been fantastic, we have LOVED staying at this great guesthouse hosted by the great Carmel, she has been much more than helpful and generous, and even served us (free) delicious homemade Mexican breakfast. My partner and I stayed in a private room and it was lovely. It is located not quite within the centre of town but is an straightforward 10 minute walk, and is a great opportunity to walk off breakfast, or lunch or dinner in town. We would both suggest staying here to anyone; it is clean and not too noisy, near to town, friendly and very welcoming. Thank you, Carmel!

Carma is extremely friendly as nicely as the place feels more like a guesthouse than a hostel. Her household is in and out as nicely as the environment is extremely peaceful and comfortable. Superb breakfasts and Carma even nursed me some as I was getting over a bad cold. Carma will give you suggestions on sites to see in Guanajuato. The rooms are cozy and extremely clean.

El Hogar de Carmelita was a wonderful spot for my four buddies and I to stay to uncover Guanajuato and become familiar with the lovely Carmen. She helped us out with anything we needed, made delicious breakfasts, and even invited us over to her birthday party at her family's house. It was fantastic. The hostel itself is really nice, clean, pretty, and some of the rooms have really fantastic balconies. I couldn't suggest it more.

We had a fantastic stay at Hogar de Carmelita. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The breakfast provided by Carmen was without a doubt the best breakfast we've had in Mexico. Best of all is the wonderful hostess, Carmen, who aims to make your stay in the guesthouse and Guanajuato as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We would definitely recommend this place to others!

Carmen is super awesome! She is very friendly and made it seem like we were staying with a family friend, rather than a hostel. I've been to a few hostels in Guanajuato and would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place over the others. It was a bit of a walk, but that's why you're in Guanajuato anyway. Stay here & enjoy a comfortable, secure, and friendly atmosphere!

The room is a lot more a pretty very good hotel than a hostel and everything is very clean and made in a nice way. The property owner is a so friendly lady so that I felt like being a guest in her house and not in a hostel. Her breakfast was also very delicious.
