The family running this place is wonderful. Very useful and caring, they really make you really feel like component of the family. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this accommodation.

Basic, no frills hostel. Dinners (optional) were good and plentiful, especially after a long day of hiking, though a bit too much food and pricey (60Dh) for one person. Would be nice to have a smaller portion for half that. Breakfast is included! It was away from town so it was quiet. It was cool up in the mountains so open the windows and let the cool air in while falling asleep to the sounds of cascading water. It was a bit far and up hill from town where the taxis drop you off and can be difficult to find the right road but these may only be problems if you try to find it on your own and are carrying a heavy pack. Ask anybody (preferrably at a restaurant) and they can point you in the right direction. Also, if Ahmed is available, he will come down to get you and drive you up. He emailed me after I booked and gave me his number if I needed anything. It would be nice to have wi-fi for folks who have their own computer, but you can use the hostel computer if you absolutely think you need to stay in touch with the outside world. It would be nice if there were a few more public toilets as most were in the ensuites and if occupied, weren't available to use.

Very exceptional position to start off hiking up to Neltner refuge or Toubkal refuge. Very exceptional dinner (tajines kefta, chicken. ) Mint tea and Moroccan pastries. Genuine Atlas Mountain people. Very warm and friendly staff.

The stay was fantastic specially the household that runs the place, they were extremely warm and friendly and cooked amazing food. Also they were very useful giving tips to go around the location and in Berber culture.

Ahmed and his family were so helpful and kind to us. Ahmed arranged a private taxi to pick us up from Marrakech, and then went out of his way to take us to Taghazout after we had finished our trek. The food that we ate there was amazing and so generous. Such beautiful soup, bread and tajine, with yoghurt, fruit and mint tea to finish. A special thank you to Saiida who was so sweet to us. Lassi (Ahmed's cousin) was an incredible guide who took us on a two day trek and who we couldn't recommend more. Such a good sense of humour on him, not to mention his culinary skills! Our rooms were very comfortable, and the place will be even better when they finish putting the fire in for the winter. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Imlil, such a great place and Ahmed and his family are great people. We hope to see you again soon to conquer Mt Toubkal.
