Very very cold in the winter. Bring extra warm clothes to sleep in. The personell was very friendly (had expected something else after reading some forums on internet). The place was kind of messy, but just as messy as you could expect from a budget place. |

Stayed 5 nights there and never changed the sheets. The staff was descretionary and if you have good "neighbours" you can chill in your room. The stairs are a lil bit scary if you've drink too mutch. Also the walls are really thin and if someone is leaving nearby will definetely bother you some night |

The hostel is located in a typical Dutch house, the interior of which makes you feel go back to the medieval times. In my opinion, it is a very nice experience of stay at the hostel. |

Locatie is very goed, cheap price, very nice room, everyroom is new, clean. hulpfull staff, i want to stay again. |

The location was excellent. if you enjoy coffeeshops! There was still the renovation goingon but it didn't mind us since our room was already finished. It was nice that there was our own bathroom even though it was a dorm, so we didn't have to go far for that. The stairs for sure were a bit scary at first but I just think it's part of Amsterdam - they have the same kinda stairs in the sex museum. The staff's english skills weren't that good but still everything worked out. There was a deposit for 10 for the lockers but the lockers were big and safe and you get the money back so. There wasn't any lounge at all so if you wanna stay in a hostel where you can meet new people, this is not the place. But hey, it's Amsterdam, you just walk out the door and the new people are there. |

If you want to be 'in the middle of everything' you can't get much closer than the Croyden. The first scetchy impressions of the checkin and hike up the stairs to the room are soon forgotten, when the rooms are clean, and you realize your stuff is safe to drop off and head out to enjoy why you've come to Amsterdam (ie, not hanging out in your hostel room). The staff is very friendly and quick to open the door when you buzz them. The hike up the very narrow spiral staircases becomes a challenge that is an accomplishment to overcome after experiencing the city life outside the door. |

There was'nt too many good things to say about the hostel crydon in amsterdam. we arrived at the hostel checked in, went upstairs to put away our things and have a shower. we had a three person private which was very tiny and not much room to move around especially for three people. one bed was a foam mattress on the floor aswell. my friend was having a shower, and my other friend was brushing his theeth when all of a sudden the water was shut off! i went downstairs to complain and the man said they shut it off for maintenance! and we had just checked in 10mins prior yet they never told us a thing. my one friend was still soapy in the shower and the other one couldnt even rinse his mouth from toothpaste. the next morning when we woke up, i went to have a shower. the bathroom and shower are in one tiny enclosed 'bathroom' so when u shower it soaks the whole entire toilet! nonetheless there was no hot water! i had the water running for a good 15mins thinking that maybe the pipes needed to heat up but it was nothing but cold water! nobody got to shower that morning before we left and on our way to checkout we told the man all the problems we had encountered. we wanted to come to a resonable solution, we paid for the facilities and we wern't even able to shower before we left. the man was completely unresonable and refused to give us any money back whatsoever. we left camly as the bigger people but i would NEVER EVER recommend this hostel to anybody! |

Clean new rooms, staff is ready to help but don't always speak the best english. Maybe because they are new, they couldn't figure out my reservation but I got a room no problem. |

Excellent location, however it was in the middle of renovations. For that kind of money I expected a nice, clean hostel. Instead we were dodging construction workers and ladders. I'm sure once the building is done, it will be good. However, it should have been much, much cheaper given the inconvenience of the works in progress. |
