I have pretty high demands on a hostel / hotel and they were totally fulfilled, since the hostel has standards that are comparable to a hotel. It was really clean, the employees was really warm and friendly along with the beds were comfortable.

The rooms were nice. The beds were comfy as well as the sheets were clean. The bathrooms are really, really nice; more like a hotel than dorm bathrooms. There&'s free bread each day inside the kitchen, which saved me a lot of money. You can get an hour of free wifi each day as well as the cost right after that is low priced compared to how much data you get. I was on all the time and barely made a dent in my max allowed data. I stayed in each the mixed and single gender dorms, and I&'d recommend the mixed one; you meet more people. The employees was always nice and helfpul. There&'s a restaurant inside the basement of the place as well as the food is supposed to be good but I never went there personally.

It was decent value in a very good location with nice public rooms and access to TV, WiFi and DVDs. It seemed to be nicely run. There was fresh bread every single morning too which was a nice touch.

The staff is really warm and friendly and always pleased to help you! The hostel is extremely clean. If you&'re going to the Abel Tasman you can leave part of your baggage at the hostel in case you coming back. The lounge is cozy and the cooking area is totally equiped. Location is extremely central and quiet.

Perfect location right on towns door step, very clean and well laid out. Loved the restaurant under the backpackers.

The hostel has a unique style in keeping with the building&'s age but also presents all of the facilities that you would expect in a quality hostel - the nicest hostel I have stayed at in New Zealand!

Great setting and good location. Nice bathrooms, good showers. Most helpful staff I&'ve experienced during this trip, and I have been to quite some hostels. It feels a lot more like a cosy hotel than a backpackershostel, yet as reasonably priced as a hostel.
