The Anker Hostel is the Ryan Air of hostels. If you don&'t care about some noises and a bit of overall grubbyness, this is certainly the cheapest spot to stay in Oslo. Bring your own linnen and towels, as each little extra has to be paid for. There are kitchen boxes to rent for wich the general grubbyness also applies. The personel was really nice though, and also the beds unexpectedly comfy.

8 of us stayed there for NYE weekend. Had a dorm among ourselves, which had a cooking area area including cupboards, stove and refrigerator (appliances offered from reception) and also bathroom which had a nice shower. Bunk beds compfy but would strongly recommend you purchase bedding from reception for aroud &xa3;5. The employees there were extremely pleasent and welcoming, just like the rest of the people in Oslo. Would completely visit again, following stocking up in duty free ofcourse to consume inside the room prior to hitting the bars and paying &xa3;10 a pint. WIFI also extremely good inside the hostel.

It&'s not far from the centre, not inexpensive at all for backpacker, but it&'s inexpensive for Norway standard

Very entertaining foosball table. LOVED the cheap(er) wine. In case you want alcohol, it is definitely worth getting it at the hostel simply because it&'s a fraction of the cost as in the bars. Employees let us check in early. Really great washing facilities. Also liked that the cooking area area is within your own room.
