The Artwork is genuine and makes this hostel original on first glance. However all rooms are standard and the TV's have no remote control and are not cleaned until you leave, regardless of how many nights you stay (this applies to the matrimonial suites also which are nothing more than a standard double room). The air con is also quite noisy but you get used to it. There is free wifi in the cafe upstairs which also serves decent cheap meals and drinks. Best location in Davao in a quiet, safe area but withing walking distance of Victoria Mall which has everything you need including a supermarket.

The hostel is located 5 min walk from a mall and 2 min walk from a very reasonably priced internet cafe. The hostel is entirely a gallery for the extremely talented Davao artist Kublai. Set aside an afternoon to peruse his many media works. Enjoy meals or beverages at the upstairs open air cafe. serving both Philippino and more western dishes. Jennifer and Jocelyn at the front desk are friendly, helpful and attentive. rooms are simple, but clean and my water was always hot, if i wanted it. Agood value and interesting place to explore in Davao.

Above all, the staff, so very friendly and helpful, would like to mention the owner and his wife, and their son kublain, fantastic people. my first visit ever to philippines, and when i return i will stay at the ponce suite again, no hesitation. my one criticism would be, the beer was never cold enough, and had to add ice to it, spoils the taste, but hey thats a small price price to pay, to stay in such a different place, the art and sculpture are truly amazing, a truly happy experience staying at the ponce suite gallery hotel,
