The breakfast was record setting! Such a variety, fresh orange juice every single morning, a variety of marmelades, superb bread even for german standards, . .

This was our first trip to Coimbra and we were pleased with the really warm welcome from Anja and all of the helpful sight seeing advice she provided us with. Casa Pombal was really atmospheric and our view from the top floor was spectacular. We enjoyed our meal out then some Coimbra Fado and also the top bit was coming back to our room with the night attractions of Coimbra. The morning breakfast had a choice of choices and was really good. It also gave us the chance to chat with other travellers and share our experience of Portugal with each other. I will suggest it to others and will certainly go again.

Excellent spot to stay. It's situated inside the old part of the town (tiny alleys) near to the university. Very nice location. Reminds me very much of the B&Bs described in Nelson DeMille's novels ;) Our room was very nice. It's rather small and dark (windows closed to keep the sunlight/heat out) but it's nicely decorated, very clean and well equipped. Same The guesthouse is very well managed. The manager was so nice to give me a medicine for my significant hangover when we arrived. The breakfast is excellent (one of the finest I've ever had). They have so numerous delicious points and even fresh natural orange juice. It's worth staying there just to try it ;)
