The backpackers near the Joburg airport are all quite strange, but I liked this one because it had a little bar area, a pretty looking pool, separate kitchen area and a place to sit outside. Its very close to the airport and Bob and Joan are very nice. Keep in mind that transport to and from the airport is not free. | |

It's in great proximity to the airport. However that unfortunately means it's in the sticks when it comes to going out and doing things in Jo Burg. You'd need to have a car or to catch a taxi to almost everywhere. Internet is also a scarce resource over the weekends as both of the Internet shops around are closed after hours. Bob (the owner) is an awesome dude and is really helpful, that applies to his son and daughter in law who also live there, but unfortunately not to his wife. She accused me of invading 'her PERSONAL SPACE' when I sat on a couch in the front of the house waiting for a taxi. There was no indication of that as you have to walk in and out of that living room. Definitely recommended for short stays when flying out of the airport. | |

Perfect location, hospitality and service. Bob and Joan are the nicest people you will ever meet. Stayed at Bob's bunk for a night in august and 5 nights at september. Had such an amazing BBQ night.
