Felt right at home; Enjoyed mixing with other travellers from all over; Location was ideal near the beaches and a selection of restaurants; Very congenial and helpful staff; Great covered front porch for reading && relaxing

We just got back from spending ten nights there during the World Cup and had a great time. A mixture of dorms in the house and twin/Doubles in out houses. Also takes campers and limited space for a small tourer/van. Incredibly busy because of the football but well organised and never too chaotic. Tea, Coffee and toast available for free which saved us a fortune and a decent size kitchen to cook for yourself if thats your thing. Plenty of hot water and advice given if needed and manager Mauritzio (probably spelt the name wrong, sorry mate ! ) always knocking about to help. Not a lot to do in Port Elizabeth but what there is is all within walking distance and the area is reasonably safe to walk around at night though i wouldn't risk the beach then. Hostel is safe and secure, with Steakhouses, shops, bars, cash machines etc starting a couple of hundred yards away. A couple fo minor moans. the twin we were in could do with new matresses. Although they were clean, they were so thin my hip was resting on the bed frame below and started to feel bruised as the days went on (but we were there for ten days ). The only other thing was the internet access. It is available (for a fee) but situated in a room where more often than not someone was sleeping and was hard to access. There is an internet cafe 25 minutes walk away so it was no big deal. considering the amount of backpackers that pass through this place better internet access could be a real selling point. Don't let the last bit put you off it's a cracking place and if you need to book safaries or any other trip do it though these people you won't get cheaper, we learn't our lesson by paying over the odds in town for exactly the same trip offered by Kings Beach. Nice vibrant place, well run and cheap as chips. Thanks for a great stay.

Perfect location in port elisabeth; close to the beach; close to the airport;and a great spot if you want to do a day trip to Addo NP; I did enjoy it; Kings beach backpacker got a warm and friendly atmosphere;

Get what you paid for. Clean, easy to get to on the Baz bus. Employees were friendly enough.

It was a nice place but the bed linen were a bit smelly and because it's a house when noisy backpackers starts to talk on the balcony it's hard to sleep.

The double ensuite at the back has a lot of space and privacy. Helpful staff. Easy walk to the beach, and restaurants and cinema are a brief (20min) walk further up the coast. There was a very high standard of cleanness and comfort.
