Very helpful staff, warm and friendly relaxed environment and sense of inclusiveness which is so nice for the lone traveller. It was also a silent building which was superb for sleeping ! ThursdayTapas night in la vegeta highly suggested :-)

Great staff and atmosphere, really outstanding location with market place opposite. The staff made everyone really feel welcome and were extremely flexible with us by arranging for us to spend some time in their other hostel in the mountains (absolutely breath taking, you must go there). I would certainly stay there again if I was in Las Palmas once more.

This hostel is an awesome place to stay at! The beach (and its supposed to be the very best in Las Palmas) is not even 1 minute away! The staff is really helpful and friendly. They help you to plan your trips and help to make the most of your stay. They really want you to have a fantastic stay! It&'s like a massive family. This hostel really has the typical hostel feeling (so don&'t expect a hotel). There is a cooking area with everything you need and a nice common room to relax. The bathrooms are really clean as well! I would definitely recommened the hostel to each backpacker! And in case you are &"only&" on holidays (like we were) and you wish to be at the beach all day; then it is a low priced and excellent location for you! Many thanks El Warung staff. We were having a fantastic time and we are coming back for sure but then we will stay longer and will also visit your other hostel in the mountains.

Staying at el warung was the luckiest thing we&'ve ever done! From the start off everyone there, owners, helpers and guests were warm and friendly and accomadating. Every reccommendation we followed was excellent, the breakfast was simple but good, as well as the hostel also offered chinese lessons, surfing and boat trips among other things. We were even taken to the el warung&'s cave hostel deep inside the mountains for no extra cost, were the environment was just as welcoming and genuine but with exquisite views. I wish I could tell you how good it was but you&'ll haev to go see for yourself!

I started my trip mid December inside the south of Gran Canaria, which was filled with old people at that time and quite boring (besides the Dunes). Thanks to the other great reviews here I booked a bed at &"El Warung&" in Las Palmas and did not regret it. I received a extremely warm welcome and felt right at home. I can only second the one review that compared El Warung to living in a shared flat - it&'s a extremely no cost atmosphere, yet professional: the web works extremely nicely along with the mix of locker key and door key is extremely smart. There were all kinds of interesting people there. It was so refreshing to talk to them! The owner of the place, Manuel, is very useful and knows very good places for all kinds of interests: as an example he suggested a great vegetarian restaurant by the beach (Bambu) exactly where I composed this review. appreciate Las Palmas @ El Warung!

So close to the beach, right within the center of Las Palmas. It was a small hostel with only about 12 beds I think, along with the environment was amazing. Manuel, the owner, along with the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, making me really feel extremely welcome. We went out for tapas together and Manuel went out of his way to create sure I had everything I needed for an pleasing trip in Gran Canaria!
