The reception is open 24hrs and the receptionist is a nice bloke who will try to speak in English as much as possible - you can even ask for a map of the city. Not right bang in the centre although safe to walk to at night, it's about 5 mins from the bus terminus. Good clean place and towels and sheets are changed daily. We were staying in a twin room en-suite. Also a small flat screen (Spanish) TV!

Confusion occurs due to the fact there is a Hotel San Glorio in a parallel street with a large sign.

It was a brief 5 minute walk from the bus station in Santander, and is straightforward to find. the reception staff were v friendly, i was a bit worried as the carpet on the stairs was a bit threadbare, but the room was lovely, nice bathroom etc. this place is pretty handy location being close to bus and train station. You can hire bikes for no cost in town which is great.

Hostal San Glorio is more of a hotel than an actual hostel. However, the cost was fair and the room itself was in outstanding condition. English is rarely spoken in Santander, or at the hostel. The Wireless is free, but really slow and is really spotty. I would suggest "Hostel San Glorio" to anyone travelling within the region and wants a bang for their buck with quality service.

The hostel was nice and clean. The room I got had a reasonably great view. It was comfortable, easy to locate and really well situated for the bus, train station, and shopping

The location was extremely convenient for us as we had to catch the ferryboat (not convenient for parking as when we were there in May 2008 the entire road was inaccessible due to roadworks. ) Also liked the fact that we could leave our baggage there at no cost on the day we checked out whilst we looked round Santander.
