The owner of Stenalman was very friendly and very helpful. She drove me into Hjo every morning as I had no car with me, but I had to take a taxi (SKR150 per ride) each evening, as Stenalmen, even for me, is TOO far from the centre of Hjo. The last bus to Jonkoping is 17. 10, and as from 1 June 2009 there are no taxis after 17. 00 ! ! ! ! even on a Friday and Saturday evening. I feel that the lack of public transport should be mentioned - but if the travellers have their own transportation this place is ideal.

The owner (Retra) was really nice - pleasant and helpful and trusted us! The place was interesting with all sorts of odd things there (I particularly liked the bellows organ). Hjo is 5 Km and the local buses are a bit infrequent and the main road is not particularly safe in the dark, but Petra offered our friend a lift in for the days after we had gone - we had a car so were OK. The place is organised into suites containing several bedrooms mainly shared and so would suit families and groups of friends (or social/church/trade union groups and such like but would be less suitable for businesspeople with hotel expectations.
