The hostel was fine as a place to stay the first night. It was just a room with two beds and a bathroom. Fine really, but it smelled kind of bad. Don&'t stay here longer than one night, within a day it is possible to uncover a lot of better places for much less money, as the cost is really to high to pay for a room in Damascus, you can easily get a nicer room for about 1300 SP. Staff is nice, it&'s clean enough, but it&'s not value for money in Syria.

We stayed in a building next to the hotel with a nice courtyard, calm and thats extremely nice in Damascus. Old town is in very good walking distance and a lot of facillities (ATM&'s, tourist information car rental, restaurants, . ) are extremely close by. The room was spacious and was finally 50% more affordable than inside the reservation. We actually didnt use the confirmation and went earlier there and bargained a bit. It was inside the begin of march, thats not high season yet.

They promised airport pickup and did not meet me. After emails and flight times and a 24 hour flight I was angry. The room was clean and big. They wanted 100 SYP a day to store a bag. You're kidding. Not recommended.
Customer Review on 22 December 2009
It is basically really pleasant and comfortable to stay here. The hotel is also walking distance from several places one might be interested in as a tourist, there is certainly great local infrastructure with cafes, laundries, atm, cinema. Employees are really really friendly and laid-back. Most rooms are spacious and cleaning standards are good. There are merely two points that also others might uncover annyoing: I have stayed at this hotel various times, and at arrival, the first thing front desk staff tries to do is putting one up in a windowless ground floor or basement room! Insisting politely and firmly, one eventually gets a decent room &'upstairs&' - it&'s just not really pleasant to have to argue for ok accomodation after a tiresome trip each time. The other negative point is that staff use some of the hotel rooms as if they lived there and with the doors open (unsure if these rooms are actually empty or occupied) - for watching tv, praying, showering etc. This each tampers with ideas of privacy and sometimes makes a lot of noise.
