We stayed in a bungalow and had an outstanding balcony with exceptional sights of the river, the bed was comfortable and the food at the restaurant was exceptional value and very tasty.

A lovely and welcoming place to stay - Maleewan and the other staff are so friendly and helpful. I ended up staying two nights instead of the planned one. Chiang Khong is a lovely sleepy little village and deserves a stop of a day or two, although most individuals fly through on the way to Laos. The individuals here are really sweet and friendly. The guest house also has attractive river views, and you can swim in the river, which I did today. Lovely!

The owner, Maleewan cannot do enough for you. She picked us up from the bus stop, took us to the border and arranged the slow boat for us. She is the friendliest and most helpful lady we have come across. Wonderful for socialising.

Lovely situation and lovely and helpful staff. Great value for money. I shall certainly come back, and visitors to this area should look no further. you will not uncover anywhere nicer.

Everything! Its a toss up no matter whether the most effective feature is the outstanding riverside and rural location or the exceptionally friendly, informative and helpful people who run the place. One of the most effective places we have stayed in during an extensive travelling career. But a word of caution - most people stay here only one night on their way to Laos - if you don&'t book far more nights you will regret it.

The owners are super helpful, they take you through all the selections for visiting Laos. There is a really calm self service and pay later system that makes you really feel at home. Considering this is described as a stop over location ee were surprised at the amazing scenery from the rooms and there is certainly enough to do to stay a couple of days. The owners have told us about several guests staying for up to three months! The town is really sleepy during the night though, don&'t expect a party! There are free bicycles to use too.

Maleewan (the owner) was incredible. She spoke extremely excellent English and made us really feel very welcome. There was a real &'family&' really feel to the place. There&'s free (and fast! ) Wi-Fi and a computer for those without a laptop or smartphone. The location of the guesthouse is excellent and they even take you down to the pier in the morning if you wish to make the crossing just before a ride down to Luang Prabang. Me and my girlfriend had an remarkable stay here. It was so tranquil looking out over the river from our balcony (we seemed to have the very best room). It was very low-cost to stay here along with the food/drink in the guesthouse is amazing (and fairly low-cost too).
