It was a really cozy apartment, that was situated behind the very touristic hostel street, so its quiet calm. There was a rooftop bar/restaurant with the most fantastic view over Istanbul and the Berber channel. Where we decided to use one of our evenings smoking waterpibe, drinking some good wine and having most excellent food from their own restaurant brought to us. Very helpfull staff, whom like most of the turkish people helps you out in every way. | |

Metropolis hostel is in Sultanmet. Right near all the major attractions. I would recommend this hostel for families as well as young travelers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They booked many tours through their travel agency. We found the hostel very clean especially the sheets. Which were changed twice during our stay. The 8 bed dom room that we werebooked in was very bright and airy with good views of the bospherous. I can recommend booking your hammam with the company they suggest. They organize a BBQ on the roof for 15TL for dinner, bellydancer, sheisha and afterwards you can coninue on to thr pub crawl in nearby Taxim. The hostel is near lots of pubs and restaurants which all shut at 12 so the hostel is very quiet. But is only a quick cab ride to Taxim with the clubs. It's great being so close to the tram stop and waking past the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya daily. I wouldn't recommend getting a taxi from the airport. Print out the map and get the train and tram like they say. There is a rooftop terrace with a bar and a computer. The drinks are well priced. This is also where they serve breakfast. The location is perfect for visiting all the sights in Istanbul, though the street on which it is located is very tourist-orientated with restaurants playing loud music into the night. Our room was comfortable, large and cleaned every day. Breakfast was very tasty with a great view of the Bosphoros. | |
