While the hostel was very conveniently located for all the sights, and the amenities were everything you could ask for, the most outstanding part was the unbelievably friendly atmosphere - it felt more like staying with a friend than at a hostel. i've never stayed anywhere that i felt more valued or better looked after. Such a good experience, in fact, that my first night in Kiev I didn't even leave the building. Brilliant from start to finish!

The hostel is really an apartment so there are enough people to ensure it's a friendly place, but not too many to make it anonymous. It felt like you were staying in a friend's house rather than some institution for the poor and needy. Moreover, its location on a quiet street, a couple of minutes from a main tube station and twenty minutes' walk from the centre of the city, meant it was ideally situated. Lidya and Joanna are great hosts and more importantly they understand the local culture.
