There are alot of individuals who are staying here so it makes it extremely easy to meet other travelers. Its location is great simply because its only a couple of blocks or so to each beach either side of Punta del Este. The rooms are also away from the main lounge region so you dont have any trouble sleeping.

Good location (near Brava and Mansa, also as the bus station), great mattresses and pillows. Huge kitchen. A extremely typical HI hostel.
