The location was pretty good, near clubs and eating places and not too faraway from downtown. The staff were friendly and there were computers to use (though the office hours were a bit inconvenient). It&'s definitely not as bad as all the other reviews make it out to be. It&'s a lot more just like living in someone&'s old apartment, and for the money you&'re paying, it&'s alright.

The best thing about this hostel is how close it is to the principal part of town (the 16th Street Mall) - only a 5-10 minute direct walk down a safe street. It is also really easy to access the hostel from the Greyhound and Amtrak stations, as there is a free shuttle bus that takes you from the North to the South of 16th Street. The hostel itself is really basic. The building is old and could use a lot of renovation. The room was a bit dusty and was in obvious need of a bit of TLC. The bathroom was in the same condition, peeling paint and old furnishings, but the shower and toilet worked fine and there were often clean towels and toilet paper available. The rooms and outside doors can only be launched with a key so the hostel is pretty safe.
