This was a extremely clean, extremely friendly, mid range hotel. The location is the most convenient in Hanoi. You can walk to the puppet theatre, Hoan Kiem lake, great eating places or the primary Post office, all in less than 5 minutes. The rooms arent huge but the air /con works well, extremely clean and theres lots of hot water. There were some Pc at entrance hall for Internet using freely and also wifi. Employees were great and honest. The morning buffet breakfast portion Viet Namese portion western, is fair quality for this price range. Extremely recommend this hotel!

After staying here for 2nights I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is extremely nice to look at, although it is not as extravagant as some of the others I have seen. But for the price I will not complain. The helped me do just about anything I need and left me alone when I needed nothing. Each and every morning I was greeting with several hellos and smiles and was served a lovely breakfast. They do have a full menu as well and I actually ate here on one of my first nights, since I was too tired to go out. The food was decent, nothing to rave about but atleast they put effort into it. I recommend contacting them by email. When I did I was given a less costly price than posted on their website and even offered a free night if I booked for 4 days. The only thing I need to mention is that my room had a leak behind the bath tub that ran along beside the toilet. So when using the facilities for the first time my socks got soaked, this is why they only get 4/5. Again the employees is extremely warm and friendly and also the manager &"Kenny&" even offered to help me look for a job by introducing me to one of her friends. Long story short. I recommend this hotel for short stays and first timers to the city like myself. &"I forget to mention that my linen was changed daily and also the web worked almost all the time (which I understand is the norm for Hanoi). The hotel website does say wifi but gave me a cable to use when the wifi didn&'t work. &"

Outstanding location exactly where the Old Quarter meets the French Quarter. The rooms we stayed were totally fantastic, spotless and well presented. We received flowers and great baskets of tropical fruit each day. The staff did everything probable to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was very very good and for free. The hotel had a book exchange service and provides travel guidbooks and maps to make sure you dont miss anything. Our room Web connection, cable TV and a huge balcony looking towards the Old Quarter and each day was always very quickly and very cleanly prepared. Kenny and Duc Anh and their terrific staff were an awesome source of local info and with their guidance. We really enjoyed our great time in Hanoi. Five star service for a real planet price. We ended up staying for 2 nights and could have stayed forever.

I would&'ve rated this hotel much higher until they tried to rip me off. I booked a tour through them (which was very average) at the same time as taxi rides to the airport (fairly priced). When I asked about paying they gave me the cost in Dollars but I wanted to pay in Dong as well as the manager multiplied the number by 19, 000. When I told him that was not the rate he went into a load of rubbish about how he would have to exchange anything I gave him in Dong into USD! I pointed out we were in Vietnam and he didn&'t HAVE to exchange anything into USD as everyone here accepts the local currency. He thought this was hilarious but stuck with his exchange rate. I refused to pay as his exchange rate worked out at us paying $20 more than the usual rate - that equals an extra night stay! Once he had left, I spoke to his assistant and she agreed a lower rate with me, which was acceptable. Given I had changed $200 with the hotel earlier within the week at the usual rate, this was fine but it seemed the manager was just trying to rip people off and line his pockets. I wonder how several more people have fallen for this Be careful, and watch his maths!
