Juliam and Pablo were extremely friendly and helpful (in spite of my limited Spanish), and invited us to a large Barbeque meal and singalong at a sister hostel in Tilcara. Hostel is a bit ramshackle but it gives the spot character. Dorm rooms comfortable if somewhat compact.

Cute building with nice rooms. The rooms were pretty and warm at night, with blankets and heaters provided, which was good due to the fact it can get extremely cold up there in the mountains! Roof terrace had spectacular views. Lockers in rooms were provided. Brief walk from the bus terminal :-)

Great atmosphere, very warm and friendly and helpful staff, and awesome value for money. The asado was very tasty! We made a last minute decision to stay a second night, without realizing that all of the dorm beds had already been booked up through hostelworld. com. the hostel owners were gracious enough to move my friend and I to the private double room and charged us each the same rate as a dorm bed! This was a very kind gesture and much appreciated. Thanks for a great stay, we hope to return to Tilcara again in the future!

Desde que llegamos, nos sentimos como en casa. Incluso decidimos quedarnos m&as tiempo del planificado inicialmente. Excelente trato, muy buenas indicaciones y referencias de sitios tur&isticos, el hostel es precioso y su gente aun m&as. Sumamente recomendable. Since we arrived, we felt at home. Even decided to stay longer than originally planned. Excellent treatment, extremely great indications and references to attractions, the hostel is gorgeous along with the individuals even more. Extremely recommended.

Great staff! Pablo gave us some of the most effective traveler info we have received about the local region and moving on into Bolivia. Fresh bread, apple jam, butter and great coffee for breakfast. Roof terrace for relaxing and an region to hand wash and dry clothes.

This is the single most enchanting hostels I have ever stayed at! The place is stunning and cosy, the employees was very helpful, they are an outstanding source of information about the region, and what to do at day time and night time. A shame I could only stay one night! I would have loved to extend my stay but I had a schedule for the rest of my trip. If you have the chance to go to Tilcara, you should stay at least 3 nights, and you should definitely stay at La Albahaca Hostel!
