We are all family - the travelers family. The Nega is owned and run by long time travellers for the sole benefit of our other tribe members. It is far more a philosophy and a way of life than a business.

Location is really good, just 5 mins away from the historic center. Also, staff is incredibly helpful! Even though the hostel itself was not comfortable at all, staff did everything they could to make it up for us.

Very helpful and friendly staff, short walk to Pelourinho, comfortable terrace and relax out areas with hammocks, fantastic included breakfast (fruit, bread, baloney, cheese, tomato, cucumber, coffee, tea, spreads/jams, juice, and alternating hot dishes of pancakes, doughnuts, eggs, banana cake), cheapest room with fan has lots of space and windows for fresh air, attracts great backpacker crowd and has an excellent vibe.

As a solo female traveller, I wanted to stay somewhere with like-minded travellers and I couldn&'t have found a much better location :) It was one of my favourite places to stay in Brazil! The hostel is in a quieter part of the Pelourinho, out of ear shot from all of the samba clubs. It has 2 public areas, a bar, 2 hammocks and 2 computers (plus free wifi). This location was best for me - I made friends that I then travelled with for another week ahead of Carnival - perfect!
