Hotel San Pietro

This is a hotel not a hostel. You pay more than you would in a hostel but you also get much more. The room was large, air conditioned with safe, tv, bathroom with hair dryer etc. The location in Bocagrande was great as you get the cool sea breezes that don't penetrate into the old city or Getsemeni. There were plenty of shops, bars & restaurants around.

Staff were extremely welcoming on arrival, lemonade was nice touch. Some of the employees are better than others, but none of them speak extremely good english. which I appreciate is our fault for not speaking Spanish, but they work inside the tourist industry. Secure in room worked well, roof terrace with 3 jacuzzis is good, but we didnt use as went to beach just around corner inside the days

Staff were very friendly and helpful, exceptional location USD 2 for 15 minute taxi cab to old town. Maticuleously spotless rooms finest we have stayed in 8 week round planet holiday to date. Air conditioner modern efficewnt and quiet. Extremely secure to walk anytime day or night. , Close to two food markets 1 block away exceptional choice of eating, Shopping principal street 1 block away same with the beach less than 4 mins walk. Highly reconmmended we will return.

Free lemonade when you arrive which was extremely welcome inside the heat, however room wasnt ready although we arrived late. Employees were ok, but when we moved to another hostel in Getsemani which was HALF the cost and a lot nicer, we realised just how friendly, yet completely unhelpful they had been. Tried to charge us the full cost and had to argue to get the deposit taken off the final bill. No maps or any info on the location available.

When I first got there the manager claimed that they had not received our reservation and that the price we were given was not real. In other words they tried to hike up prices. Nonetheless since I made the reservation through HostelBookers and I had a copy of it, the manager knew that they had to keep their component of the contract. At the end we paid what we had established with HostelBookers.

The staff were helpful. We felt safe walking around at night, however we were just TOO far from the city centre. Nice to have the option to use the terrace with jacuzzi. Really close to the beach. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area. Welcome drink was really appreciated. Internet in the lobby was good, however the free wi-fi wasn't available in our room, when we were told it would be.
