We enjoyed our stay at the hostel really much and would defenitely recommend it if you&'re staying in Havana. We ourselves had a private room at Casa Rolando y Magaly, but spent our evenings with other backpackers in their 2nd hostel which has dormrooms (Rolando&'s Backpacker). On their rooftop you can appreciate okay 3 course dinners for 4 cuc (lobster for 6! ) and Leo makes the greatest cocktails! Casa Rolando y Magaly itself is much more quiet as it has no seperate common room. The abuela is always there to help you around. She also serves breakfast inside the morning, although we preferred breakfast at other places due to the fact of the price-quality. The location may not be ideal or really central, we didn&'t mind long walks, 20 minute to the center, and biketaxi&'s are available quite cheap. The area does look quite scary and dirty, but it&'s really safe to walk around, even at night.

Rolando and his wife are very friendly and accommodating. They&'re usually at their other property and also the abuela can&'t speak English but she&'ll call them if you need anything. Re: location; the casa is a 10-minute bicitaxi ride away from Parque Central. maybe a 20-minute walk.

Rolando and Magaly&'s is a great place to stay. The staff is simply great, all info you ask for you&'ll get it. The really best is that they give you and explain the options for you to chose the really best one. A noiseless and nice place to rest.

Ive now stayed at Rolando&s three times. Each and everytime its been a great hostel to stay in. A great location, clean, great food and an perfect environment in which to meet fellow travellers. Rolando, his household and workers are informative about Cuba and often highly helpful. This is indeed the perfect place from which to uncover havana and Cuba further.

As lots of individuals wrote on the review, Roland was really helpful, I especially appreciated he gave me some tips about getting around the town. His mum was helpful, too. Just wish I could speak far more Spanish! Pizza from upstairs was great, too.
