The manager Sayoko was amazing - so helpful and friendly, gave me a map of the area which was full of hidden gems, from a honey shop to traditional tea shops, museums, kimono stores, hot springs. I had a really exciting time, in a extremely historical portion of Kyoto.

The manager is very very nice! He did whatever he could to help us havean enjoyable stay. When I checked out and left the hostel, the manager even gave me new gift! Which was so sweet and touching! Iwillnever forgot such a considerate host!

I like that it&'s actually in an old Japanese home - it&'s as authentic as you can get! Yet it&'s fully equipped with modern requirements as such. each bunk bed gets your own usb && travel charger, alarm clock, light && even an electric blanket! Owner also provides easy breakfast && gives us great travel tips - greatly appreciated!

The house is conventional Japan, that gives pretty good image of the living that it used to be Japan. The property owner is extremely helpfull. It has extremely nice value for money.

Kyoto Hostel Kanouya is the very best Hostel I have ever been. I felt at home, his manager is so nice and attentive. If I go back to Kyoto, I will surely go back there!
