The hotel is extremely welcoming and helpful, including no cost cab to Petra Gate. The house style food is exceptional and great value for money. Packed lunches are available for a small fee.

It is a very good place for the ruins, but is an superb spot to stay simply because the hotelier is so welcoming and helpful. Lifts to the site are offered as required; info about what you should be paying for things and moving on is offered. Also very good dinners are served. One of the best places I have stayed.

Manager Mousleh was a great honest character that gave really good travel advice, and really good petra advice, that often turned out to be true. Backpacker atmosphere with hotel type rooms.

Cleopetra was really clean and new. The rooms were spotless and I was given a fan (but no A/C). The property owner also drove me to the gate and to the bus, which was really helpful.
