Friendly and laid-back. The household that run the guest house supply surf lessons, board and wet suit rental and pick-up to and from the beach. The house has a small kitchen exactly where you can prepare your own food (supermarket down the street) and nice comunal areas (living room, veranda, balcony and roof top) for hanging out and playing games etc.

It's a funky place - you'll be basically staying at a house of a surfer family with all the other people intersted in surfing. It was an interesting change from all the regular hostels and hotels and a nice place to socialise in a very imformal atmosphere. The location is not exactly central, the village is about 20 km from Sintra, and you most probably need a car to feel comfortable getting there.

Very laid back, friendly relaxed and interesting. hostel was also a surf school which was a bit of a surprise as we are in our late fifties! good fun though
