Made to feel right at home in this little hostel wih exciting hosts and exciting use of hostel using volunteers teaching English in Sri Lanka etc. Intimite setting made for a real personal touch. Hosts went out of their way to help. Didn&'t have to pay the minute we were through the door, unlike some hostels. We were on a bit of a budget so took the 6 dorm bed option. the beds/rooms were really cosy and provided a great view of the hills- television aswell but in such a lovely spot as ballater who needs tv! Lounge etc were also really lovely places to bit with roaring fire and amazing sofa- you would have to see them to believe them! Breakfast facilities were also great. Could help yourself to tea and coffee and thre was a basic breakfast of toast and cereals but if you asked you could get anything else-whatever was inside the kitchen!. Incredibly good, as all was inclusive in hostel price. No self catering but could allow takeaways etc. The hosts even attended the performance as component of the workshop that we were in Ballater to do and took our baggage from the hostel location to the hall where we were performing, which was above and beyond! Trully warm people that we hope to see again :)

Excellent location to stay. Clean, stunning location with exciting decorations from the well travelled and warm and friendly owner. She went out of her way to accommodate me. I will definitely stay again.

I felt like I was a guest in their home. It was immaculately clean with many lovely personal touches. Fantastic value for money. Wished I could've stayed longer.

It is a pleasing building with garden in a silent part of town. Stores and takeaway are handy. Tea and coffee are obtainable all day, but there are no coking facilities. The owners and student staff were really friendly.
